Baby Shower

I've been a bad blogger- my family threw me a baby shower 2 weekends ago & I'm just now sitting down to write about it! It was a wonderful day hosted by my Mom, my sister, and my Aunt Robin & Aunt Cindy. Somehow we even got just about everything to fit in our suitcases to fly home, too. Little Jenny really came to our rescue, too, wrangling 3 little girls who REALLY wanted to help with presents :-) Everything was so appreciated and meant so much- I never even thought I'd be able to have a baby, so it was really a celebration for us!

Leigh and her little one- one of the Kelley Partners! She delivered this beautiful blanket knit by my friends from Kelley- they are all spread out over the country & each knit one part of the blanket, then 1 person put it all together. It was just beautiful!

Tiny Little Kicks

We already knew we had an active little boy, but this weekend I really started feeling actual kicks instead of just a little fish swimming around. It's distracting, because every time he does it I smile and think about him with my hand on my belly. This is especially interesting when I'm at work :-) Sunday night, Rob even got to feel him kick! You still can just barely feel it from the outside, but he definitely felt it.

From here on out, I will be going to the doctor every two weeks. It's early to be starting that, but because of the problems I've had and the potential for the baby to have thyroid problems in utero they want to monitor his heart beat more often. As long as his heart beat is in the normal range, I won't have to go to a high risk doctor (for now). So many specialists! My OB is monitoring the baby and an endocrinologist is monitoring me, all to try and avoid needing a high risk doctor. And I though I was done with specialists once I finally got pregnant!

IT'S A...

BOY!!! We had our big ultrasound yesterday and found out we are having a little boy! Everything looks like it is developing perfectly, all the way down to ten little fingers and ten little toes. The lady that did the ultrasound was so cool- she told us what she was looking at and explained everything to us. And let me tell ya, he is not a shy little boy at all. He proudly showed us that he was definitely not a girl. He was very, very active the whole time- he kept stretching his head back, reaching his arms behind his head, and just flipping around. He definitely didn't like having the probe pusing in on my belly & kept kicking back at the tech! Below are some pictures from yesterday. She tried to take a 3D picture, but he kept moving around and making the shots blurry. In my Dad's family, this is the first little boy since my Dad was born!

A little baby leg

This is our attempt at the 3D shot. He wouldn't stop moving, so they all turned out blurry. But you can still see his little nose!

We don't have names picked out yet since we can't seem to agree on a boy name (we had a girl name that we both liked, but that doesn't do us much good now). Still haven't decided if we will share the name or if we will keep that one a secret- I might change my mind, after all!

Sheeeee's Heeeeerrre

Crazy pregnant lady has officially moved into our apartment. Rob has been a trooper, but he never knows what he's going to get. I sure am glad I can blame my craziness on the baby & hormones!

I can't believe we will be trying to find out the gender in just a couple of weeks!!!
